IIM Lucknow hosts IAM conference

The 3-day conference is being attended by around 300 delegates

IIM Lucknow-Noida Campus is currently hosting its biennial IAM Conference.

The theme of the conference is “Managing in the Indian Context”. Around 300 delegates are attending the three-day conference, where they will make their paper presentations, mentoring doctoral students along with a junior faculty consortium.

The papers that are being presented revolve around 13 key topics including leadership, strategy and organisation, entrepreneurship, innovation and new venture management.

Day one

The first day of the conference began with the doctoral consortium, which was followed by parallel sessions on Research Design, Theory Building and Case Research Analysis and the junior faculty consortium. Two sessions by IIM professors also focused on the prerequisites towards writing better papers and the reasons for papers being rejected by journals.

Another session brought out various shortcomings that plague manuscripts submitted to journals with the Indian context in mind.

The session also sought to dispel several myths around manuscript submission and rejection. The professors advised researchers and scholars that they be persistent and persevere in the face of paper rejections.

The common point was that the papers must ask the right questions and seek to answer them.
