IIM Rohtak organises internet start-up summit

Summit focused on the theme “Indian Internet Enterprises: Competing on the Global Platform”

Indian Institute of Management Rohtak recently hosted its second Internet Start-up Summit on October 31. The summit focused on the theme “Indian Internet Enterprises: Competing on the Global Platform” and featured two panel discussions.

The first panel discussion began with a keynote speech by Punit Modhgil, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Octane Marketing. Modhgil spoke about The Internet of Things and the need to balance expectations and deliverables in this new market space. The discussion revolved around the question whether Indian start-ups are mere clones of their foreign counterparts.

Ankur Sardana, AVP - Product and Design of Zomato, was the moderator for the panel, and highlighted the pressing need of inculcating innovative practices right from schools.

Cariappa CK, Founder and Chief Evangelist of Wolf Marketing, said that multi-billion dollar companies like Amazon, Google were not pioneers in their fields. It was the execution of ideas that pulled them through.

Dhyan Chauhan, Head-HRD, CashurDrive delivered a keynote address on ‘Tough Road ahead for Non-Tech Start-ups’. The second panel discussion was centred on the topic ‘Mobile Revolution: Catching the eye of Global Tech Giants’. The way mobile revolution has transformed how we live, work, learn, travel, shop, and stay connected was the cornerstone of the discussion.

Mohit Ahuja, COO of Cratuz Technology Group, and Jagminder Pal Singh, Director of Goibibo, emphasised on exploring mobile platforms to stay relevant in today's rapidly changing market.
