IIM Shillong will be hosting its fourth edition of TEDxIIMShillong on February 13, inviting speakers from across the country share ideas which have had or will have a lasting impact on people’s lives.
Created with a mission of ‘ideas worth spreading’, TEDx supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their community. The theme for this year's event is ‘Confluence in Conflict’, strategically chosen to enhance peace-keeping in a world engaged in strife.
Speakers expected at the event are Anamika Khanna (the first Indian woman fashion designer to showcase her collection at the Paris Fashion Week in 2007); Diwakar Vaish (developer of the first all-Indian 3D printed humanoid robot and mind-controlled robotics); Praveen Thipsay (Indian Chess Grandmaster, Arjuna Awardee and seven-time winner of the Indian Chess Championship); Ritumoni Das (PhD Scholar and co-founder at Kat-Katha); Richa Singh (IIT Guwahati alumnus, conceptualizer and co-founder at YourDOST, a start-up helping people connect with psychologists and life-coaches online); Krushnaa Patil (the youngest Indian woman to successfully scale Mount Everest); and Sridhar Lakshmaman (Manaing Trustee at Basecamp Social Research Foundation, Founder and CEO of ecoLogin and Duke of Edinburgh award holder).
