IIM-T placements: highest international package is ₹54.5 lakh

Despite a batch size increase of 63 per cent, average annual compensation increased by 7.4 per cent

Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli completed its placements for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management for the 2016-2018 batch.

Despite a batch size increase of 63 per cent, the institute not only managed to place all its students but also helped them bag impressive packages.

The average annual compensation increased by 7.4 per cent when compared to last year. The average annual salary of the top 25 percentile increased by 24 per cent.

There was a four-fold increase in the number of domestic offers where the annual compensation was above ₹ 30 lakh, and a six-time increase in the number of offers where the packages on offer were above ₹ 20 lakh.

Of the 176 students, 172 opted for placements. As many as 113 companies made 177 offers for roles across various domains such as consulting and analytics (31 per cent), sales and marketing (30 per cent), finance (17 per cent), strategy and general management (14 per cent), operations (7 per cent) and organisational behaviour and HR (1 per cent).

Apart from the regular recruiters such as JP Morgan Chase, L&T, Cognizant and Dell, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and Saint Gobain, the institute also hosted a number of new recruiters, including GMR Group, UltraTech Cement, DHL, Tolaram Group, ValueLabs, Trafigura, VLCC and Kotak Life Insurance.

Prof Abhishek Totawar, Chairperson, Placement and External Relations, said, “Even with a 63 per cent increase in the batch size (compared to the previous year), growth in the placement statistics are proof of the brand image which IIM Trichy has built in the past few years.”

Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director of the institute, said, “IIM Trichy is emerging as a leading business school in the country and, year on year, our placement statistics show a geometric growth.”
