IIM Trichy donates chairs and tables to Government school

IIM Tiruchirappalli donated infrastructural facilities to the Government Secondary School, Thuvakudi, located in B.H.E.L. Nagar, Thuvakudi, Trichy on August 12. The donations included benches, desks, tables, chairs, fans and sports equipments.

Professor V Gopal, Dean (Academics) and Professor of Finance and Accounting at IIM Trichy was the Chief Guest for the event. He inaugurated two classrooms (8th standard sections A and B) and addressed the students of the school. In his address, he spoke of eminent personalities who studied in government schools who have gone on to excel in all spheres of life. He also urged the students to keep learning to the best of their abilities.

The funds for the donation of the infrastructure were raised from the students, faculty and the non-teaching staff of IIM Trichy.

IIM Trichy will actively participate in the ‘Joy of Giving week’ conducted from October 2-8and has plans to link up with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Initiative) to make Trichy a cleaner city, with a focus on promoting the importance of clean toilets.
