In cluster 1 of final placement process at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), consulting global majors Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Accenture Strategy made the maximum number of offers. BCG made 47 offers, including pre-placement offers (PPOs), while Accenture Strategy made 32 offers in cluster 1 of final placements process for PGP class of 2022.

IIM Ahmedabad follows a cluster-based system for the final placements process. Due to the Covid-19, the entire placement process is being conducted virtually this year. Participating companies are not be physically visiting the campus.

Cohort system

The firms that participated in cluster 1 comprised four cohorts — investment banking and markets, management consulting, advisory consulting and private equity, venture capital and asset management.

Other than BCG and Accenture Strategy, the recruiters included American Express, Arga Capital, Arthur D Little, A&W Capital, Bain, Bernstein, Citibank, EY Parthenon, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Kearney, McKinsey, Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman, Premji Invest, PwC, Standard Chartered, and The Xander Group among others.

What reinforces the strength of the management programme at IIMA is that the consulting firms continued to hire in large numbers. Including the pre-placement offers, the finance firms too made considerable offers for roles in investment banking, private equity, venture capital and capital markets across functions.

Goldman Sachs made the highest number of offers (including pre-placement offers) at 7, closely followed by American Express at 5 in cluster 1. The second cluster will be held on February 11, 2022.
