IIM-A gets Errol D'Souza as in-charge director

He will replace Ashish Nanda, who resigned earlier this year

The IIM-A Society on Wednesday appointed Prof Errol D'Souza, the dean of faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, as the in-charge director of the institute replacing the Prof Ashish Nanda, who had announced his resignation in April this year.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Board, IIM-A Society, announced the appointment of Prof D'Souza as Director-in-charge, IIM Ahmedabad effective September 2, 2017.

D’Souza studied economics and statistics at the University of Mumbai where he was awarded the Kashinath Trimbak Telang gold medal for obtaining the first rank in his MA (Economics) degree. He obtained his PhD as a University Grants Commission National Research Fellow from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Appointment of D'Souza comes on the back of resignation by Nanda, who cited personal reasons for his early exit from the institute. Nanda had stepped down from the post well ahead of his five-year term, which ends in September 2018.
