IIM-A hosts second annual open day

Over 570 aspiring undergraduate students attended event

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) hosted its second annual Open Day on its campus on 22 August, and received over 570 aspiring students from more than 30 undergraduate colleges across various streams from across Gujarat to get a glimpse into the institute and its workings.

In addition to a general view of the institute, participating students were provided an opportunity to learn about managing real corporate problems and get a perspective on career options available after management education. Icebreaker sessions were used to kickstart the academic sessions which allowed the students to mix up and interact with students from other colleges.

A campus tour was also organised, where the students were shown the new campus, as well as the heritage campus designed by architect Louis Kahn.

A panel discussion followed was also held by current students of IIM-A, who threw light on their lives before IIM-A, inside IIM-A (the academic rigour and extra-curricular activities), and what they expected from their lives once they graduated from IIM-A.

The session was also attended by the Director of the Institute, Prof. Ashish Nanda, who addressed the participating students.
