IIM-A library conducts conference on ETBL

Emerging Trends in Business Librarianship was a two-day global event

The Vikram Sarabhai Library, IIM Ahmedabad, in collaboration with The Bajaj Auto Library, ISB Mohali, organised a two-day global conference on 'Emerging Trends in Business Librarianship – ETBL 2017' at the IIM-A campus from November 21-22. The conference focusses on the theme 'Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership: The Evolving Role of Business Libraries'.

The event included talks by world-renowned management librarians and academicians such as Angela K Horne, Head Librarian, Anderson School of Management, UCLA, USA; Gina De Alwis, Tay Eng Soon Librarian, Singapore School of Management; Corey Seeman, Library Director, Ross School of Business, USA; and H Anil Kumar, Librarian, IIM-A.

Anil Kumar said, "ETBL provides global exposure to emerging trends in business librarianship. This year the focus of the conference is on entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership."

The conference has been organised by IIM-A and ISB since 2015. Library professionals from top business schools located in different countries come together and share their experiences and ideas. The conference is an attempt to provide a platform to address issues relating to the emerging trends that are reshaping business libraries.

In addition to invited keynote talks, the conference included a workshop on 'User Experiences (UX) in Libraries: Capturing User Behaviour Using Ethnography' by Gina de Alwis, Singapore Institute of Management, and a case study on leadership by Prof N Ravichandran, IIM-A, and presentations by business library professionals.
