IIM-A to get a boost for Case Centre with Bank of Baroda funding

‘Fund will sustain development of cases in banking and financial sector’

Public sector lender Bank of Baroda (BoB), on Monday announced a contribution of over ₹2 crore towards case research at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A). The funding is part of the Institute’s effort to reach out to the industry and collaborate on onfield-based research.

“This fund will sustain development of cases in banking and financial sector. Case studies are a wonderful means to conducting cutting-edge field-based, inductive research. The case materials that are produced will be available for research and teaching not only at IIMA, but also other institutions, as we have been doing in the past with our case research,” Ashish Nanda, Director, IIMA said in a statement here in Ahmedabad.

The contribution is believed to boost the case research at the premiere institute, which is focusing intensively on strengthening its Case Centre. Bank of Baroda has been keen on supporting quality research in the Banking and Finance sector, as well.

The coming together of both institutions will contribute to top quality research that is connected with the latest developments in banking and finance, the statement said.

“One should not see Bank of Baroda’s contribution in the light of only funding research output of IIM-A. It is an amalgamation of a shared vision to make a difference in the quality of available research cases to benefit the sector,” the statement quoted Ranjan Dhawan, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda as saying.
