IIM-B to host first conference on innovation, intellectual property and competition

Registrations are open for participants from industry, academia and policy makers

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) has announced its first India Conference on Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition, to be held over two days on December 7 and 8 at the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru. The conference aims to bring together scholars, policy makers and practitioners from India and abroad, and reinvigorate talks of innovation and re-igniting Schumpeterian forces of creative destruction in the Indian economy.

The conference will feature presentations from noted global academic scholars on economics and management of innovation. In addition, there will be presentations from policy makers and regulators from Government of India and Indian State Governments, apart from thoughts shared by industry leaders from India Inc.

Chirantan Chatterjee, Chair of the Organizing Committee and Faculty Member at IIM Bangalore, said, “India is at the cusp of transitioning in its innovation, IP and competition environment both in the digital and brick-and-mortar world. This conference aspires to contribute to these emerging discourses around innovation happening in India and its transformative impact on long run Indian economic growth. In doing so, the conference also aims to provide momentum to recent policy mandates by the Government of India around Design in India, Create in India and Make in India.”

The India Innovation Conference on Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition invites participants from industry, academia and policy makers from across the country. Registrations are open until November 1. For more details and to register, click here .
