Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode hosted Sangram 2017, the annual sports festival by IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Trichy and IIM Vishakhapatnam.
The 12th edition of the event, which commenced on November 17, saw a plethora of indoor and outdoor sporting competitions. The inaugural ceremony was a gala affair with music and dance performances followed by a laser show.
While games, such as cricket, football, kho-kho, volleyball, throwball, basketball, tennis, badminton, hockey and swimming, gave the contestants a chance to showcase their outdoor talents, indoor games like chess, pool and carom demanded them to wrack their mental faculties to enhance their accuracy and ability to strategise.
IIM-K emerged the champion during the three-day sports fiesta by bagging 11 gold, 8 silver and 1 bronze medals. IIM-B won 8 gold medals, and IIM-T and IIM-V won 1 gold medal each.
