IIMK witnesses 40 per cent spike in admissions to EPGP

IIM Kozhikode virtually inducts EPGP along with second batch of one-year MBA

The induction ceremony of 13th batch of Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP 13) of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, was organised online. This year witnessed a spike of close to 40 per cent in admissions to the executive programme, with a diverse group of 501 candidates joining. 60 candidates from the second batch of one year-full time Post-Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL) also entered the B-school.

Aparup Sengupta, Founder and Chairman of AAJ Global Foundation was the Chief Guest for the induction ceremony of EPGP 13, while Hanish Yadav, Partner, McKinsey & Company, and IIMK Alumnus (PGP 2010) did the honours for the PG-BL 02 induction ceremony. The event was presided over by Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode.

Thought leadership

Sengupta in his address to the vastly experienced batch of executives advised the candidates to discover the golden opportunities that change drives in, in their pursuit of learning at an institution which is now known globally for the richness of its values and thought leadership. On the other hand,Yadav candidly recounted his journey at IIMK.

Prof Debashis Chatterjee in his inaugural address to the two incoming batches shared that management is India’s most successful soft power. He also spoke about how the three D’s - Digitisation, Diversification and Disruption have shaped the IIMK philosophy of globalising Indian thought. Emphasising on the culture of values, he added “Leadership in the corporate world is not just about leading a group of people but evolving one-self by imbibing the timeless values of authenticity, sustainability and wholeness.”

About the programmes

The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) for working professionals is a two-year master’s programme in management offered on Interactive Learning (IL) platform leading to MBA degree.The 13th batch has candidates with experience ranging from three years to 36 years which shows their passion for learning.

The PGP-BL is a one-year, full-time, residential programme that will have as integral elements, a global immersion module, constant industry engagement and placement assistance. The programme is structured to have five terms of eight to nine weeks. The second PGP-BL batch comprises of 60 students who will be taught in two sections, in order to facilitate a personalised learning experience. This batch with an average work experience of close to 4.5 years, is also diverse in terms of gender (30 per cent female), and work experience.
