IMI Kolkata sends three students to Spain for internships

This will provide them the skills required to take up roles in diverse cultural settings

International Management Institute Kolkata, with the addition of Xunta de Galicia to the list of international collaborators, has opened up new avenues for its students to pursue summer internships abroad. This is the first time that the students were provided with such a challenging opportunity to take up a three-month-long summer internship programme in Spain.

Internships form an integral part of the institute’s PGDM curriculum. Three students were selected on the basis of academic records, communication skills, work experience and dynamism to carry out projects in Spain. They have been placed in companies, namely Coto Redondo Winery, Godoy Maceira Natural Stone and FEPROHOS (Provincial Federation of Businessmen of Hospitality of Pontevedra), based on their credentials.

The internships are financed by EU under the Erasmus+ programme, which focuses on international co-operation in the field of education, training, youth and sport. The summer internship programme is intended to serve as a catalyst for cultural and social integration of the two nations. It also opens up possibilities for Indian-Spaniard collaboration across various industrial sectors.

This leap was taken by IMI Kolkata to provide its students with the necessary exposure and skills required to take up major roles in diverse cultural settings.
