IMT Ghaziabad confers diplomas on 722 students

Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Uday Kotak was the Chief Guest

IMT Ghaziabad recently hosted its annual Convocation with the theme ‘Conquering Conventions’ at its campus. The theme aimed to promote the unconventional thinking and its relevance amidst the challenges of today.

A total of 722 students were conferred with diplomas of three programmes: PGDM, PGDM (Executive) and PGDM (Part-time) during the event.

“We have many business leaders at Kotak Mahindra Bank, who are the ex-IMTians and they are helping the company to write the success story in the market,” said Uday Kotak, Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank. Kotak was present at the event as a Chief Guest.

“This is an exciting time with so many alternatives for freshly graduates today. You can have the option of joining the corporate sector or consider starting or joining a ‘start-up’. Therefore, an appropriate decision making by all of you in planning your future is important,” he said.

The ceremony was presided over by Kamal Nath, President, Governing Council of IMT Ghaziabad. He addressed the convocants and expressed, “Management education has a cutting-edge role to play in societal and economic development. The focus has to be on developing global leaders and managers, equipped with appropriate skills. It is also important to strengthen the inter linkages between entrepreneurship, employability and management education. The image that IMT has in the industry is the result of its innovative approach towards management education and the achievements accomplished by the IMT talent over the years.”

Sunil Kataria, Business Head (India and SAARC) – Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) was also felicitated with ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award 2016’ at the IMT campus during the event. A graduate in Economics from Delhi University, Kataria specialised in Marketing at IMT Ghaziabad.
