Infosys' Narayana Murthy honoured as an ISB Distinguished Fellow

Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB confers the title during the Dean’s Speaker Series

The Indian School of Business (ISB) today conferred the ISB Honorary Distinguished Fellowship on NR Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys and Catamaran Ventures. NRN, as he is popularly referred to as, is the first recipient of this fellowship instituted by the ISB.

The ISB Honorary Distinguished Fellowship is designed to honour personalities of national and international eminence, who have contributed to society through their thought leadership and success, are respected by the industry and the academia alike, and have inspired generations of people to achieve excellence in their respective fields of activity.

Conferring the title, Professor Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB, said, “NR Narayana Murthy has inspired many an ISB student by agreeing to participate in the Schools activities and by being a benefactor to the School. The ISB has much in common with what Murthy espouses and respects. His values and endeavours nurture a spirit of entrepreneurship and make a positive impact on society.”

The announcement was met with a thunderous applause from the audience at the Khemka Auditorium of the ISB’s Hyderabad campus, where NRN was participating in the Dean’s Speakers Series moderated by the ISB Dean.

Murthy has been closely engaged with the ISB, first, as one of the key founding members and a member of the Executive Board, and since the recent past, as a member of the ISB Governing Board.
