International Management Institute hosts a TEDx session

Bollywood director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra spoke on film-making and story-telling

International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi, hosted a TEDx session at its campus for the second year. Speakers included Bollywood director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, actor Divya Dutta, senior journalist Prabhu Chawla and 14-year-old Anwesha Mishra, who is the winner of an international spelling bee competition and is now working towards helping children from her home State of Odisha to get proper education.

The theme for this year’s session was ‘zoom out’. The event was inaugurated by Debashis Chatterjee (Director General, IMI), who said, “This fight to zoom out is about movement from darkness to light; from tamas to jyoti; from the apparent to the real. We must put emphasis on cleansing our lens of perception.

There were nine speakers from diverse backgrounds. The list included Puja Marwaha, CEO, Child Rights and You, who highlighted the alarming increase in child trafficking and the importance of education; and Dr Neharika Yadav, who is a dental surgeon by profession and a super-biker by passion.

The event was attended by over a 100 people, including students of IMI and other guests, and was well-received by the audience.
