ISB celebrates 20 years since founding

The B-school was established in 2001 in Hyderabad; today there are 933 students in Hyd Mohali campus.

The Indian School of Business (ISB) celebrated its 20th year of its establishment. On December 2, 2001, then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated ISB to the nation. Since then, ISB with the support of all the stakeholders has been playing a catalytic role in nation-building and redefining the contours of management education.

“It is gratifying to witness the contribution made by ISB across various spheres,” Dean Madan Pillutla said in a statement. “Today, we rededicate ourselves in realising the vision of becoming an internationally top-ranked, research-driven, independent management institution that grooms future leaders for India and the world,” he added.

The day was marked by hoisting the ISB flag, tree plantation by the long-serving employees of ISB, and other cultural activities. The first batch of ISB’s flagship post graduate programme in management commenced on campus with 128 students in 2001 in its Hyderabad campus. Now it has about 933 students, 603 at Hyd and 330 in Mohali campus.

It has 11 centres of excellence covering a wide range of business and policy related subjects. Pramath Sinha was the founding-dean of the school.
