ISB teams sweep Hyderabad leg of semi-finals

A team comprising the trio of Chirag Jain, Bhargav Chikatimalla and Venkatesh Baliga of ISB, Hyderabad campus, won the Hyderabad leg of the semi-finals of the BLoC Boardroom Challenge 2020.

The contest featured four teams in the Hyderabad round. Surabhi, Meet Mistry and Amanpreet Singh, also of ISB, were the runners-up while ISB’s Bhanu Agarwal, Atul Dhaka and Jheelam Ghosh, came in third. The team from Institute of Public Enterprise, comprising Nikita Gupta and Sri Harsha Korlapati came in fourth.

The students had to present a branding strategy for an FMCG brand and also discuss how this brand could shore up its falling market shares in emerging categories. The teams were scored on their understanding and analysis of the case, the case solution, their presentations and also on team work. The team from ISB will now meet the winners of the semi-finals from the other eight cities in the nine-city finals.

The jury for the semi-finals comprised KS Rao, Senior Vice-President and Head, Investor Education and Distribution Development, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC; S Sivakumar, a people performance analyst and executive coach, and Prof Anuj Kapoor, Asst Professor of Marketing, IIMA.
