Mahindra University starts three-year LLB programme

Mahindra University’s School of Law has launched a three-year LLB (Hons) programme, beginning this academic year. “It is aimed at creating a new generation of legal professionals with expertise in domains such as corporate law, business law, criminal law, international law and intellectual property law. The course structure will cover both Indian legal systems, as well as public international law and much more,” Sridhar Acharyulu, Professor, Dean School of Law, said.

“The holistic multidisciplinary curriculum aims at incorporating future-ready and industry-specific specialisations as elective honours,” he said. The programme has been designed keeping in mind the current industry trends, reflecting new regulatory regimes and other credit courses, besides the mandatory courses prescribed by the Bar Council of India.

The School of Law’s student exchange programme with top foreign universities would open up multiple career opportunities for the students, he said. Yajulu Medury, Vice-Chancellor, of Mahindra University, said that the demand for trained legal professionals had grown rapidly in the last 20 years.

Quoting industry estimates, he said that intake for law professionals in leading law firms in the country in 2021 showed a growth of over 15-25 per cent. The last date for submission of applications is October 27, 2022.
