McGraw Hill offers digital textbooks to universities

Teachers will be equipped with supplemental support resources for interactive learning

Publisher and learning solutions provider, McGrawHill Education has partnered with a digital textbooks platform - IGNITOR to provide McGrawHill Education eBook catalog for universities and colleges across India.

MHE India will work with Universities & Colleges, to offer learning experiences to students on their laptops or tablets through IGNITOR.

Higher education institutions can go completely paperless with students carrying all their textbooks and learning resources on their devices.

IGNITOR and MHE aim to reach out to more than 1000 universities and colleges in India to offer the interactive learning experience to students.

Digitisation

As part of the partnership, IGNITOR will digitise the higher education content for MHE and a large catalog of digital learning resources will be available to higher education institutes across India. The e-catalog will have over 5000 leading titles in 40+ streams in Engineering, Management, Medicine, Science, Arts and Commerce streams - available for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The partnership has kicked off with successful deployments of Digital Learning resources at leading institutions across the country like SRM University, IIM Kozhikode, Great Lakes Institute of Management, VIT University and Thiagaraja School of Management. Students instead of carrying a heavy load of textbooks to the classroom every day, now carry their textbooks and class material on their devices to classrooms, reducing significantly, the weight of their bags.

Interactive learning

Further, digital textbooks on IGNITOR are being enhanced with in-built multimedia, audio and video features. Interactive platform features like annotations, highlighting and note taking drive overall student engagement leading to better learning experiences.

Teachers/instructors will be equipped with supplemental support resources and they can dynamically augment students’ textbooks with interesting Q&A sessions, graphic representation of concepts and educational PowerPoint presentations that help students prepare better and learn faster.
