MDI concludes management convention

The convention was a confluence of three events

Management Development Institute, Gurgaon recently hosted its National Management Convention, Delphique with a theme - Managing growth. The convention was a confluence of three events – panel discussions, Vincenza - a business plan competition-cum-mentorship programme and Cerebro - a case study competition.

The convention began with panel discussion on ‘New forms of Money: Electronic, Digital and Virtual’. The panellists included Ramakant Khandelwal, Head - Financial Services Partnerships, PayBack, CS Mohapatra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Govt of India, Ranaditya Palit, Manager, Product Management, Western Union, and CHSS Mallikarjun Rao, General Manager, Oriental Bank of Commerce.

The students presented their research project on the theme followed by panel discussion and Q&A. Centred on the upsurge of app based companies in the start-up eco system, the panellist from the second segment included Prabhakar Tiwari, CMO, PayU; Kashmira Chadha, Former Director Marketing, Coca-Cola; Prabhjeet Singh, Head- Strategy & Planning, Uber India. Students from MDI also exhibited their study on “Disruption by App based companies” highlighting the scalable model of the app based startegy trending among start-ups during the event.

The second day of Delphique had 6 business talk sessions on topics including Marketing & Strategy Research Panel, Social Media Analytics Panel, Business Leaders Talk, HR Panel, Strategy Panel, Cerebro + ShopClues Project Presentation.

The Entrepreneurial Panel on the third day was mentored by Gaurav Malhotra, CEO - India, Bourne-Hall; Deep Kalra, Founder and Managing Director, MakeMyTrip ; Colonel Biraj Sahay (CEO, Colonelz group)on the topic Inflection point for Indian start up ecosystem.
