Nippon Steel, Suzuki Motor are new recruiters at IIM Ahmedabad placements

In its summer placements for the flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) class of 2024, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) saw new recruiters such as Nippon Steel, Suzuki Motor Corporation (International), Nucleus Office Parks among others.

The institute concluded its third cluster of the summer placement process on November 7, 2022. Over 35 firms participated in cluster 3, taking the total companies participating across three clusters of the summer placement process to over 145 companies.

The firms that participated in cluster 3 included the top recruiter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) with 11 offers. The cluster 3 comprised eleven cohorts such as banking financial services and insurance, consumer technology, core manufacturing and infrastructure, education tech, enterprise tech, financial tech, food and dairy, gaming and sports, IT consulting and analytics, renewable energy and green tech and social enterprises and NGO.

Fintech sector

From the financial tech sector, Fin IQ rolled out five offers followed by companies from consumer tech cohort such as Audify, Justdial, Uber, and Zomato among others. Adobe and Atlassian Corporation was the highest recruiter in the Enterprise Tech cohort with four offers each. Enterprise tech consisted of companies like Adobe, Atlassian Corporation, Google, and Ikigai Labs among others, an IIMA statement said.

The cluster 3 saw new recruiters such as Nippon Steel, Nucleus Office Parks, Aliens Group, Simpl and Suzuki Motor Corporation (International). Further, the institute informed that it concluded the Summer Placement process for PGP-FABM (Post-Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management) class of 2022-24 with 38 companies participating in the offline process conducted on November 4.

The process was carried out in hybrid mode. 47 students of FABM Class of 2022-24 will do a summer internship in the months of April-June 2023, the statement said. Among the new recruiters for PGP-FABM batch were the industry giants like Yum Brands, Maersk, Agrocorp, Chr Hansen, Terviva, Grainspan, Krishika advisory, Vegrow, Varaha ClimateAg and others.

Commodities sector

The programme also witnessed participation of firms from the development sector like Akshay Patra. Among the regular recruiters were leaders in the domain, Banas Dairy, Amul, Godrej Agrovet, UPL, P&G, Nestle, PepsiCo, Ernst & Young (EY), Reckitt, Marico, Pidilite, International Flavours & Fragrance (IFF), Zepto, Yes Bank, Dehaat, Country Delight, Everest Instruments, Ninjakart, Grow Indigo, Waycool, Licious, and Stryker.

The FABM placements witnessed a balance of roles from all the sectors agro-chemicals, commodities, food supply chain, food industry, agri consulting, e-commerce, FMCG retail and other sectors.

The second cluster of summer placements for PGP class 2024 was held on November 4 with 50 companies from seven cohorts of advertising and media, consumer electronics, consumer goods, and durables, consumer services, conglomerates, retail B2B and B2C and pharma and healthcare participating for it.

Adani was the top recruiter with 16 offers besides other leading players such as ABG, Bajaj, CK Birla, JSW Group, Piramal, Reliance, HUL, ITC, Kimberly Clark, Mondelez, Disney, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Optum Global Solutions and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
