“Care, courage and compassion are the three pillars of the Karnataka State Police,” said the State’s Inspector-General of Police, Seemant Kumar Singh, while addressing students of the Institute of Management at Christ University, Bengaluru.
Highlighting the force’s increasing reliance on tech, Singh explained the difference made to women’s safety by the police force’s fleet of Pink Hoysala vehicles and the Suraksha app, as also its collaboration with NGO Parihar to cater to women and children in distress.
The interactive session was enlivened by questions from the students on how up to date the police force is in its use of technology and the way it connects with young people on social media.
