Placements at IIM Shillong conclude

Median CTC for the year stood at ₹14 lakh, as against last year’s 12.59 lakh

Placements at IIM Shillong has completed today with a total of 137 students securing 142 offers made by 41 recruiters who participated in the final placements process.

The median CTC for the year stood at ₹14 lakh, compared to ₹12.59 lakh for the previous year. The highest domestic CTC offered was ₹23.35 lakh.

Another highlight of this year's placement process was marked by the fact that more than 45% of the batch had received offers from the top five recruiters on campus.

Sales & marketing emerged as the most preferred domain at IIM Shillong campus with 31 per cent of the students opting for various roles in the domain. Some of the top recruiting companies offering sales and marketing profiles include Google, L'Oréal, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Titan, GSK Pharma and Voonik.

Around 19 per cent of the batch received offers from the finance sector with firms like ICICI Bank, RBL Bank, JPMC, HSBC and SBI Bank recruiting from the campus.

Consulting & General Management offers were rolled out from Deloitte (Strategy & Operations), Mahindra GMC, Cognizant (Business Consulting), Wipro and ZS Associates.

BFSI and IT/ITES/Analytics again emerged as the preferred sectors with 27 per cent and 31 per cent of the students taking up offers in these domains respectively.

In accordance with the country-wide trend, the year also witnessed a surge in the preference for start-ups and close to 9 per cent of the batch opted for such roles.

Summer Placements

Earlier this year, the institute completed its summer internship placements securing 174 offers with a highest stipend of ₹1.6 lakh and a significant jump of 25 per cent in the average total stipend compared to the previous year.
