Put institution ahead of yourselves for progress: Bhaskar Bhat

The MD of Titan Company was speaking at the 32nd convocation of TAPMI

People who put the institution ahead of themselves have always progressed faster than those who put themselves ahead, according to Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan Company Ltd.

Speaking at the 32nd convocation of the Manipal-based TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) on Monday evening, he asked the graduating students to live their life as responsible citizens and lead a life of integrity.

Stating that today’s generation is sitting at the entry gate to opportunity, he said India will be a $6-trillion economy in a decade from the present $2.3-trillion economy. Everybody’s life is going to change when India becomes a $6-trillion economy.

He said the country’s economy is uniquely driven by its domestic consumption. Around 1.3 billion Indians are aspiring for a better life every day, and aspirations will fuel demand. He urged the students to diversify their experience as it helps them better themselves.

Madhu Veeraraghavan, TAPMI Director, said TAPMI has always lived up to the motto of producing industry-relevant graduates. The next three to five years is crucial for the students, as that is when when they face numerous challenges and go through self discovery, he said.

The convocation saw over 450 students from the three PG diploma streams — Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), PGDM in Banking and Financial Service, and PGDM in Healthcare Management — graduating.
