Student at LM Thapar Univ. bags Rs 17.34 lakh offer for research

Offer extended by University of Twente, Netherlands

At a time when most business school graduates are running after white-collar jobs, an MBA graduate of LM Thapar School of Management (LMTSM), the business school of Thapar University, Patiala has bagged an annual package of Rs 17.34 lakh for research from University of Twente, Netherlands.

Around 41 companies, including 12 first-time recruiters visited the campus this year, with companies like HDFC bank, Kelloggs India and ACC yet to recruit. Placements are still on with about 82.3 per cent students already securing jobs. Ten per cent of the graduates have decided to opt for start-ups this year.

The average annual package has went up by 16 per cent from the previous year, and stands at Rs 4.84 lakh.

Reliance ADAG has hired six students students, followed by Practo Technologies (five) and Philips and Gati KWE (four each). Other prominent recruiters include Tata Consultancy Services, Hero Motocorp, Volvo Eicher, ITC, InfoEdge Ltd (Naukri.com) and Avantha Group.
