TA Pai Management Institute retains AACSB accreditation

The Manipal-based school had received initial accreditation in 2012

Manipal-based TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) has been re-accredited by AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) for another five years.

A press release said here on Saturday that TAPMI earned its initial accreditation for its postgraduate programmes, in April 2012.

A peer-review team that monitors continuous improvement visited the institute in January, and recommended to extend the accreditation for another five years as the school had met with the requisites.

Quoting Madhu Veeraraghavan, Director, TAPMI, the release said an institution’s business programme must undergo a meticulous internal review and evaluation process to achieve accreditation.

During this period, the business school must develop and implement a mission-driven plan to satisfy 15 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students, and commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programmes.

During the review process, TAPMI was visited and evaluated by business school deans from reputed institutions with detailed knowledge of management education. The evaluation process involved assessment of TAPMI’s mission and how its curriculum, structure, systems, processes and people fit together to achieve the mission.

“They used what is known as a triangulation process that checked the veracity of the school’s claim of following the processes, by talking to various stakeholders, in formal as well as informal settings,” Veeraraghavan said.
