The pedagogy we have imbibed is "doing leads to knowing"

IMT Ghaziabad Director Dr Atish Chattopadhyay on the B-school's curriculum re-jig and specialisations introduced for students

In this video interview, Dr Atish Chattopadhyay, Director, IMT Ghaziabad, one of the country's top B-schools, talks about the curriculum re-jig that IMT undertook recently with Prof Srikant Datar of Harvard Business School. Prof Datar is the co-author of the bestselling book Rethinking the MBA. "We looked at the whole environment and what will be the key competences required for a future leader. Among the key findings that emerged is that self-awareness and self-development are essential elements of leadership grooming," says Prof Chattopadhyay.

IMT, says Prof Atish, believes that "doing leads to knowing". So, apart from broad sector specialisations, IMT has introduced minor specialisations in specific areas. For example, within marketing, sales and service marketing, analytics and research, media and entertainment management would be specifc streams offered while, within finance, portfolio management or banking could be subjects that students can study deeper.
