Top managers head to Nantes for a leg of their EuroMBA

Participants will develop actions to address one of the seven areas of concern voiced by the world’s youth

A few months before its 20th birthday, the EuroMBA comes to Audencia for a study week, during which the 43 executives enrolled in the programme will tackle responsibility projects inspired and backed by UNESCO (United Nations Educational and Cultural Organisation).

The MBA, a blend of distance learning and a series of study weeks in Europe, is followed by top managers from 19 countries this year. From September 5, these students will spend the week in Nantes, western France, at one of the programme’s partner schools putting their knowledge and fresh skills to work on themes sourced at UNESCO’s Youth Forum.

Corporate responsibility

The whole week centres on corporate responsibility. Through the projects participants will develop new and feasible actions to address one of the seven areas of concern voiced by the world’s youth, which include violence, social inclusion, peace and civic action.

The EuroMBA students will produce project reports that could have a long-term impact on the 18 to 34 year-olds on the fringes of modern society. UNESCO has lent its full support to the idea and will share the outcomes on its website and forum.

During their time in Nantes, the participants will take part in interactive sessions designed to help them be creative about sustainability. These will cover a range of topics such as human resources, coaching skills, leadership and innovation.

The programme

The study week is one of six that each EuroMBA student attends during the two-year programme. It offers them the chance to meet and work face-to-face. Around 70 per cent of the MBA course is taught online.

Founded in 1996, the EuroMBA was the first of its kind to combine e-learning with residential modules. Almost two decades later, it is a mix that is used in a growing number of programmes aimed for the most part at executives.

Audencia Nantes is one of six European schools that run the MBA. The others are EADA Barcelona, HHL Leipzig, IAE Aix-en-Provence, Kozminski University in Warsaw and Maastricht University. Founded in 1900, Audencia Nantes is today among the best European business schools, with its programmes regularly ranked on a global level by The Financial Times and The Economist. Accredited by EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA, Audencia Nantes is one of the select number of business schools which possesses this triple-crown proof of quality.
