Ullas Kamath asks students to focus on tech, skills

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Sahyadri College, Jyothi Labs MD discussed the future of work.

The next 20 years belongs to India. The country will be in the top two positions in 2040, according to Ullas Kamath, Joint Managing Director, Jyothi Laboratories Ltd. Speaking at the 11th and 12th Graduation Day ceremony for MBA students who graduated in 2020 and 2021 from Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru, he said it is the effort of these graduates in the working class that will take the country to the top.

He cautioned the graduates that the next 10 years are going to be difficult to procure jobs and only the brightest will grab them in the technology-driven market. In such a situation, access to future technology and relevant skills are the need of the hour. He advised the graduates to take up employment for the first few years, and then dabble in entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the the various government schemes driving entrepreneurship.

 

He urged students to learn one foreign language, have a hobby, and keep learning. Manjappa Sarathi, Director (R&D and Consultancy) of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, welcomed the gathering. Rajesha S, Principal of the college, proposed the vote of thanks.
