He also spoke about the International Fleet Review to be held in February

Flag Officer Commanding-in-chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Satish Soni has advised IIM students here not to look towards salary packages, but respect the profession.

Stressing on imbibing good values, he advised the budding management graduates not to look primarily towards salary packages, but respect the profession to succeed in life and contribute to the welfare of the society.

Hard work and sincerity are very important to improve skills and for personality development, he said while addressing the first foundation day of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Visakhapatnam.“A person must respect his profession and should not measure the work by how much he is earning,” he said.

On the occasion, Vice Admiral Soni said that the Indian Navy played an important role in protecting the maritime interests and economic growth of the country. Referring to the forthcoming International Fleet Review to be held in Visakhapatnam from February 4 to 8, he said the Eastern Naval Command had fully geared up to organise the event in a big manner.

Soni said that there would be 52 countries participating in the event, along with the huge Indian fleet. About 22 warships will be present along with heads of Navies from 30 countries.

The Vice Admiral later distributed prizes and certificates to the students for excellence in education and sports activities.
