Xavion — entrepreneurship summit of XIMB concludes

Speakers encouraged young minds to think of society at large; national case study challenge held

“Xavion 2020”, the annual entrepreneurship summit, conducted by X-SEED, the entrepreneurship cell of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, started with the inaugural ceremony on the January 11.

Pritish Gupta, Founder, of Reach Out Consulting spoke on how failures help you grow as an entrepreneur. Akash Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Mobycy, spoke on solving the problem of mobility while keeping sustainability in mind. He said that new innovation is always a learning curve in which a start-up has the room to accommodate.

The next speaker was Madhusmita Panda, Head of Marketing, KredX India. She gave a few pointers on how to never assign one particular reason to the failure of an enterprise. Ravi Ranjan, who has years of experience helping start-ups build, talked about how the Indian culture is very entrepreneurial.

Ranjan encouraged young minds to not only think about themselves but also for the society at large.

Samir Singh Sheikhawat, a start-up advisor was present.

National level competitions

Day two of the summit started with ‘Scale it up’ — a national case study challenge in association with Pee Safe. Management students from all over the country such as IIM Ranchi, SCMHRD participated. The winners were Manobes Padhy and Nishant Dash from XIMB.

This was followed by a national-level pitching competition — iPitch, where teams presented their start-up ideas to the investors.
