Youth Summit to enkindle young minds

Retired Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, TSR Subramanian to be in attendance

In the past decade, India has experienced a number of significant transformations and has withstood the test of innumerable challenges. The rise in the contribution of the youth and their display of innate talent and brilliance across various fields had inspired the government to declare 2010-2020 as the Decade of Innovation.

On January 28, NIT Trichy’s Pragyan will host a platform to address ‘India’s Innovation Imperative’, by creating an opportunity to encourage and inform the youth on the importance of innovation, and enkindle young minds to think and redefine conventions at the Pragyan Youth Summit.

The summit, which will be held at Chennai, will serve as a stepping stone to accelerate the promotion of the ideas of the youth in front of prominent industrial leaders, economists, and businessmen.

In the morning session, Anil K Gupta, professor at IIM-Allahabad, will deliver a keynote address which will be followed by a panel discussion on ‘Marching towards the Innovation Economy’.

Following the networking luncheon in the afternoon, Aloknath De, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Electronics, South Korea and CTO of Samsung R&D Institute India, will deliver a keynote address. This will be succeeded by a panel discussion on the topic, ‘Inclusive Innovation’.

The event will culminate with another keynote address by TSR Subramanian, a retired Cabinet Secretary at the Government of India.

The list of panelists boasts of influential personalities such as the founder of the Honey Bee Network, Anil Gupta, the CEO of Frontier Markets and the President of Frontier Innovations Foundation, Ajaita Shah, and the Chairman of Indian Council of Food and Agriculture (ICFA), MJ Khan, amongst others.

The two panel discussions will deliberate the path towards an innovative economy, and inclusive innovation. These discussions will scrutinise the lags in our system, help ideate to overcome these hurdles, and examine the possible outcomes of incorporating changes to the current scenario of consumerism, education, and lifestyle.
