At first, the transition from being an engineering student to an MBA one was quite tough — we were always on a tight schedule and it was difficult to balance academics and extracurriculars.
The method of continuous assessment too was quite scary. It meant that we could not afford to slack off anywhere, any time. But as I spent more time at Loyola Institute of Business Administration, I was able to adapt and adjust myself to what was required of me, with the help of encouraging staff and a good circle of friends. We were able to work our way through the two years of our MBA programme with ease.
Most B-schools provide the right amount of exposure and interactions with industries and corporates. The knowledge that we gain about industries constantly keeps increases through guest lectures, live projects and internships. All this ensures that we are well equipped and ready to face the corporate world when we leave the campus.
My two years here at LIBA have taught me a lot of life lessons that I may not have gained anywhere else. Not only have I learnt time management, multi-tasking, work-life balance, leadership, and other skills, I have also been able to educate myself on the various aspects of a business and understand the nitty-gritties that go into running one.
The MBA programme also instilled in me a passion to start and manage my own firm. Apart from all the above, LIBA has given me a huge network of friends, colleagues and well-wishers, whom I consider to be my biggest assets.
Although I had joined LIBA unsure of the career path I wanted to pursue, the studies as well as my internship helped me make a choice — I chose marketing. Now, having been placed in a reputed FMCG company in the Sales and Marketing department, I believe all the skills I have acquired over the past two years will help me excel and shine in my career.
