474 IIT Hyderabad students bag 508 job offers

As many as 474 students of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) have bagged 508 job offers, including 54 international offers in the phase-I of the placement season this year. The highest package in this phase stands at Rs 63.78 lakhs, while the average package is put at ₹19.49 lakh.

As many as 144 companies have taken part in the phase, held in the hybrid model from December 1 to 7. Over 700 students have registered for the placements.“As many as 13 international companies have taken part in the first phase of placements as against 12 international companies that participated in the two phases last year,” an IIT-H spokesperson said.

AI grads on demand

The first graduating batch of BTech in Artificial Intelligence has seen a placement of 82 per cent. “The number of students opting for semester-long internships has also increased to 51 this year as compared to 33 last year in two phases,” the official said.

Engineering, IT/software, finance, and consulting are among the top recruiters, which are followed by startups from and abroad. “Various initiatives taken in the last two years, like an internship for BTech and Interdisciplinary MTech have helped us achieve these numbers,” BS Murty, Director of IIT-H, said.
