BITS Pilani launches student-run start-up accelerator

It aims to create an environment of co-learning by building symbiotic relationships between start-ups

Conquest, an initiative by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership, BITS Pilani, is set to create an environment of co-learning that helps start-ups grow together.

This year, Conquest has successfully hosted its 16th edition where a Bangalore-based start-up Vadoo emerged as the winner, bagging an equity-less cash prize of ₹50 lakh. The Conquest initiative has also kickstarted a special programme called ‘BITSian Track’ tailored exclusively for start-ups from BITS Pilani.

Mentoring

Conquest provides a platform for early stage start-ups to come to the fore and get access to one-on-one mentoring sessions. These sessions are conducted by stalwarts from the entrepreneurial world from different verticals such as customer acquisition, product management, fund-raising, UI/UX, sales, and marketing.

The top ten start-ups move to Bangalore for a ten-day accelerator programme where they are provided free accommodation and co-working spaces. The programme comprises of sessions with successful founders, investment workshops by VCs and Angels, networking events, and a wide array of activities to ensure that start-ups are ready for any challenge that they confront.
