IIT Hyderabad launches course in Sanskrit

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), in association with the New Delhi-based Central Sanskrit University (CSU), has started a certificate course in Sanskrit. The institute is offering through the Non-Formal Sanskrit Education Center (NFSE) that it established recently.

“This centre is hosting an introductory Sanskrit course on the IITH campus. The course is open to students, faculty, staff, and family members of the staff,” an IITH spokesperson said. The course, named prathama-diksha by CSU, is the pre-requisite for the dvitiya-diksha (a diploma course). This course will focus on a graded learning method, providing a flexible learning opportunity to students.

“There are absolutely no pre-requisites for joining this course,” the institute said in a statement. The course is scheduled to start in October.
