IITH launches seven MTech programmes online

The institute is also offering a dual degree in MTech techno-entrepreneurship for BTech students

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad has launched online MTech programmes in eight streams and one MDes (Masters in Design) programmme for working professionals. Beginning August 2021, the institute would offer the MTech programmes in industrial metallurgy, EV technology, computational mechanics, integrated computational materials engineering, communication and signals processing, power electronics and power system, and microelectronics and VLSI through online mode.

Besides, it would also offer a dual degree MTech programme in techno-entrepreneurship for BTech students. “This is the next step towards strengthening our industry-academia collaborations. We have already taken a number of steps last year to enhance our industry interaction, through initiatives such as a semester-long BTech internship and mandatory industry lectures for MTech students,” B S Murty, Director, IITH said.

Eligibility

“The online courses are based on the credit system and provide students with a wide choice of courses. Each programme comprises core and elective courses and project work,” he said. The last date to submit applications is July 7, 2021. Those with a first class in BE, BTech or an equivalent degree with two years industrial experience post-qualification are eligible to apply.

For the MDes programme, candidates with a first-class degree (BE, BTech, BS, BDes, BArch or an equivalent degree) with two years industrial experience post-qualification are eligible.
