Panjab University, CII set to organise R&D fair on November 12

Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) of Panjab University Chandigarh in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Chandigarh Administration is organising the ‘CRIKC-CII’ exhibition on November 12, 2022. The R&D fair will showcase close to 80 new-age technologies and innovations from varsities and companies in Punjab.  

The participating institutes include Panjab University, PEC, PGIMER, IIT Ropar, NITTTR, CSIR-IMTECH, CCET, CSIR-CSIO, Chitkara University, Rayat Bahra University, and NIELIT. Also, research scholars and students from IIT Roorkee, IIT Jammu, Jaypee University, Solan and from Panjab University will showcase their R&D work in this exhibition.  

Companies such as Cheema Boilers Ltd, Atos Instruments Marketing Services, Diplast Plastic Ltd, Shakti Model Works, Ecologique Science Technik (India) Pvt Ltd, Omicslogic Bioinformatics and Data Science India (OPC) Ltd, and Amerging Technologies will also present their innovations in this exhibition. 

Industry-academia ties

With support from CII (Punjab), industry players in the region have been invited to visit this exhibition. It is expected that due to this exhibition some technologies in academic circles will get transferred to the industry.  

On the sidelines of this exhibition, focused group meetings of interface clubs have been scheduled. The concept of interface clubs, brainchild of CII (Punjab) Vice-Chairman Dr PJ Singh, facilitates interactions between members of academia and industry. The exhibition will also conduct a roundtable meeting of industry persons hosted by Prof NS Vyas from IIT Kanpur to discuss and collectively conceive a concrete plan for the implementation of Industry 4.0.
