Delhi boy tops VITEEE 2018

Rank-wise counselling will be held between May 9 and 11

Kalash Gupta, a student of Delhi, secured the first rank in the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)-2018. The test, which was held from April 4 to 16 in 124 cities across India, as well as in Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and Qatar, was for admission to the various BTech programmes offered at the institute’s Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati (AP) campuses.

The top 10 rank holders are Sarikonda Ananda Ramarao (Telangana), Anirudh Panigrahi (Odhisha), Sai Anirudh M (Karnataka), Shubham Kar (Jharkhand), Shubham Agarwal (West Bengal), Pranav Goyal (Chandigarh), Sanchit Agrawal (Delhi), S Vishal (Tamil Nadu), and Anmol Gupta (Uttar Pradesh). Releasing the results on Friday, VIT said as many as 212,000 candidates had registered for the entrance exam.

The results were released online. Counselling for those who obtained ranks up to 8,000 will be held on May 9, for ranks from 8001 to 14,000, it will be held on May 10 and those who secured ranks between 14001 and 20000, on May 11. The counselling will be held simultaneously in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati.

Under the G V School Development Programme, central and State board toppers will be given 100 per cent fee waiver for all the four years. Candidates with in the top 50 ranks will be given 75 per cent tuition fee waiver, between 51 and 100 will be given 50 per cent tuition fee waiver and between 101 and 1000, be given 25 per cent tuition fee waiver.
