Hari T quits Tech Mahindra to test start-up waters

Thalapalli was Chief Marketing Officer, Global Head (Collaborative Enterprise Solutions)

Hari Thalapalli, one of the longest-serving Satyam leaders, has put in his papers to pursue his interest in start-ups.

He was the Chief Marketing Officer and Global Head (Collaborative Enterprise Solutions) of Tech Mahindra when he resigned.

With the firm through the thick and thin, Hari played a key role in building its human resources and marketing.

Though he worked with Satyam founder Ramalinga Raju and the founding team very closely, Hari stayed on while several others quit after Raju’s startling disclosures pushed the firm to a near death. He was among the few who kept the crestfallen staff in conversation, amidst endless gossips that predicted the collapse of the firm.

Crisis manager

Furthermore, he was part of the crisis management team that kept the world, and the clients in particular, informed about the developments, till the government-appointed Board had taken over.

Confirming his resignation, Hari told BusinessLine that he had a couple of options. “Of the two, I might take the one to head a start-up in the technology space,” he said.
